Fast Mover Tools sought the expertise of our Design Team to undertake a significant warehouse optimisation project. The primary objective was to replace their existing racking infrastructure with a state-of-the-art Pallet Racking system.
Our Design Expert, Tom, conducted a thorough site assessment, engaging directly with Warehouse Manager Alastair to gain comprehensive insights into their operational requirements and strategic objectives. During these consultations, Alastair highlighted the increasing difficulty in sourcing replacement components for their ageing infrastructure, which was beginning to impact operational efficiency. POSITIVE OUTCOMES FROM THE PROJECT
The project was a resounding success, thanks to Tom’s careful planning and the team’s flawless execution. Tom designed an advanced storage solution with sixty-eight bays of Pallet Racking, enhanced with robust timber decking. This wasn’t just an upgrade to the existing system—it was a tailored solution that not only met but exceeded safety standards while offering cost-effective storage for palletized goods at elevation.
The installation phase highlighted exceptional project management. A comprehensive implementation schedule was developed, detailing daily clearance requirements for Alastair’s team. This proactive planning minimized delays and reduced disruptions to operations, ensuring the installation ran smoothly and efficiently.
Beyond the primary installation, the team also showcased their skill and efficiency during the decommissioning and removal of the old system. Initially, Alastair had planned for four skips to handle the disposal of the old racking. However, thanks to the installation team’s careful approach to skip loading, fewer skips were needed, resulting in significant cost savings. This demonstrated not only the team’s competence but also their ability to identify opportunities for operational efficiency and cost reduction.
