1986

Rapid Racking founded by Terry Mills in Woodchester first corners the market and is first to supply boltless racking by mail order to businesses throughout the UK.

1989-1997

Rapid Racking expands and moves to larger premises at Spring Mill Estate (Nailsworth) and later gains BSI Quality Standard, ISO 9001. In 1996 Rapid Racking celebrates their 10th anniversary of business and launches their first website. The company relocates to Kemble Enterprise Park due to further expansion.

1997-2007

Rapid Racking expands the product range from workbenches and packaging to office furniture.

The company wins the following awards, 5 ECMOD awards in the Warehouse Materials Handling category. Gloucestershire Business of the Year award. Silver Award in the 2005 International B2B category for multi-channel retailer at the 20th Catalogue awards held in Orlando.

2008

In February 2008 Rapid Racking become part of the Manutan Group consisting of 2,300 dedicated and customer-oriented people operating in 26 subsidiaries across 17 European countries, all with the unique mind-set to achieve superior customer satisfaction and a joint mission, enterprising for a better world.

2009-2012

In February 2012, Rapid Racking achieve their BSI Environmental Standard, ISO 14001 in 2010, and celebrate their 25th anniversary. The Rapid Racking blog is launched in December 2012, giving information and guidance to their customers.

2013-2014

Rapid Racking launch new Project Management services and a new website to provide secure online purchases.

In 2014, Rapid Racking re-launch as the fastest supplier of shelving and storage products within the UK.

2015-2018

Rapid Racking focus on continual improvement of all digital channels. Updating stock information online and delivery date promises. The introduction of digital tools to aid measuring and design projects, provides an improved service for our customers.

2019-2020

Rapid Racking introduce a variety of new exciting tools and services – which continue to position us as the number 1 specialist in shelving and racking solutions.

Digital designers are introduced to provide customers with a modern, improved design service. Our design team now all use IPads where storage spaces are digitally measured and drawn on site, allowing instant quotations to be provided.

Developed new easy digital selector and configurator tools, customers can select and configure their perfect storage solution, quicker and easier than ever before.

360, 3D image views are introduced on the website to improve the way customers can view products.

In 2020, Rapid Racking Rental was launched to allow flexible rental solutions for any space.
