What are post pallets?
Post pallets are robust, stackable steel storage bases fitted with vertical corner posts, designed for storing and handling long, awkward or oversized items. Their open modular design also makes them a smart, flexible alternative to fixed pallet racking in operations where storage layouts need to adapt regularly. Our heavy duty range includes foldable and demountable designs which nest when not in use, along with a wide selection of extension posts so you can configure each pallet exactly as you need it.
At Rapid, heavy duty means big builds and bigger strength. Take our fixed post stackable pallet: at 2085mm across, it comfortably holds two standard pallets side by side. Our foldable stacking pallet meanwhile stands at 2200mm high and delivers an awesome 4-tonne stacking load.
Every post pallet in our range is engineered to perform wherever you put it, including in outdoor yards and harsh industrial sites, thanks to corrosion‑resistant steel finishes, such as the eye‑catching blue RAL 5003 powder coating on our foldable model.
What types of loads are best suited to post pallets?
Post pallets are made for storing and transporting long, loose, oversized or awkwardly shaped goods—anything that doesn’t sit securely on a traditional pallet or fit into a standard stillage or pallet box. Think timber beams, pipes, machinery parts and large industrial components.

Can post pallets be used with forklifts and pallet trucks?
Yes, post pallets are specifically designed for safe and efficient handling with both forklifts and pallet trucks. They have robust galvanised bases for lifting strength, while designs like our folding 1000kg storage pallet feature forklift brackets on both sides for flexible, secure manoeuvring.
For heavier industrial applications, our stackable steel post pallet stillage features a strong open-work base and forklift compatible frame, allowing easy movement of heavy goods while delivering a TÜV certified weight capacity of 2000kg.
All of our post pallets also stack securely by forklift so businesses can make the most of their vertical storage. And some options—including our stackable fixed construction bins—include corner lifting points for secure crane handling too.
How do pallet extension posts work?
Post pallets are designed for adaptability, making them ideal for operations with changing storage demands. Extension posts let you increase the usable height of your pallet, giving you the flexibility to handle taller, bulkier or variable-length goods as requirements shift. The posts simply slot into the pallet’s corner housings, instantly raising the overall height and creating a secure storage structure.
Our stackable steel post pallet stillages come with a choice of post lengths to suit different load types. We also supply extension posts separately—in lengths ranging from 400mm to 1495mm—so you can build responsive, multi-purpose pallet configurations. When not needed the posts can be easily removed and the pallets nested or stacked together compactly.
